Michel Scibetta-Nicolo
Founder/President/Program Director
of the Italian Academy Language School
Michel Scibetta-Nicolo has earned degrees in foreign language in both the United States and Italy. Mrs. Nicolo attended Universita di Catania, Italy and her graduate studies at Hunter College N.Y. She has also taught both Italian and Spanish in elementary schools and High schools. Mrs. Scibetta- Nicolo also taught English as a second language abroad. Mrs. Nicolo is a member and was a lead teacher for the Federation of Italian-American Organizations. Mrs. Michel Scibetta-Nicolo is also a member of IACE-Italian American Committee on Education.
Before teaching, Mrs. Nicolo worked for Alitalia Airlines and while living in Italy served as a translator/tour guide for Italian travelers. Mrs. Scibetta-Nicolo was also V.P. of Marketing and Advertising for Salva Enterprises (formally located in Italy) and organized as well as participated with the CES show in Las Vegas 2004.
Mrs. Scibetta-Nicolo founded the Italian Academy while raising her two young children. She wanted to create a little time in a day where her children can find other children who loved Italian. Mrs. Scibetta-Nicolo passion was to embrace the love of the Italian language and culture to the community. To have children Meet, Play, Sing, and Learn in ITALIAN.
The Italian Academy teaching staff has one true goal:
To provide the tools to enjoy and engage in the Italian language and culture.
Direttrice d' Amministrazione – Director of Teachers and Programs: Ines Maria Randazzo
Ines Maria Randazzo was a former elementary school teacher in Italy before moving to the United States. She has taught at the Berlitz School in Manhattan N.Y. and at Instituto di Cultura Italiano also in Manhattan N.Y. Mrs. Randazzo was once an Italian Teacher at St.Finbar School in Brooklyn, N.Y. and is a member of the FIAO. Mrs. Randazzo is also a member of IACE.
Teachers at the Academy
Our teachers are selected and personally trained and supervised by the founder and head teacher of the Italian Academy. They come from various educational backgrounds and bring their creativity to the curriculum. Our teachers are individuals who love the language and its culture and teach with passion.
