3 steps to joining our programs
1st STEP
Apply via the Online Application Form and complete payment of the Application Fee (€60).
Application Deadlines
- Deadline for International Foundation Program (9 months – September 2025 start):
- 1st round: April 30th, 2025
- 2nd round: June 30th, 2025
- Rolling admissions until August 30th for EU students only, based on availability
- Deadline for International Foundation Program (9 months – January 2026 start ):
- 1st round: Sept 30th, 2025
- 2nd round: October 30th, 2025 (last admission for non-EU students)
- Final round: November 30th, 2025 (for EU students only)
- Academic Italian Courses: rolling admissions
ADMISSION PRE-REQUISITES

A copy of your valid passport (main pages only);

A copy of your final high school diploma officially translated into Italian or English.Students currently enrolled in their final year of secondary school may still apply by submitting a certificate of enrollment or an official statement issued by their school confirming their student status and the expected graduation date, in order to receive conditional admission pending completion of their studies. The final diploma must then be submitted before the start of the program to finalize enrollment.

2nd STEP
Letter of Offer
You will receive the Letter of Offer and the Program Agreement Form within 48 hours (NB. these documents are not valid for Visa purposes, students require the Letter of Enrollment for visa applications).
Once you receive the Program Agreement Form, sign and return it to admissions@theitalianacademy.com
3rd STEP
Program Enrollment & Visa Application
Complete payment of the Enrollment Fee, 1st Installment of Tuition Fees and Housing Fees. Details for payments are found in the Program Agreement form.

Visa application (non-EU students)
Upon payment receipt, you will receive the Letter of Enrollment and Letter of Hospitality, which are valid for your visa application. If needed, our admission team will guide your through.
As a non-EU student remember that you must have an health insurance. Health and travel insurance is mandatory for all non-EU students attending the Foundation Year. Coverage must be valid for the entire duration of your stay in Italy, and must be in place before arrival, as it is also required to apply for your permit of stay (permesso di soggiorno).
PRE-ARRIVAL
Read through the Pre-Arrival Guide that our admissions team will send you and get ready for the Orientation week of social and cultural activities!
TUITION FEES
9 MONTHS
Start in September or in January | 900 hours✓ Italian Language: A0 to B1/B2 level (600 academic hours)
✓ Curricular Foundation Courses (track-specific) (300 academic hours)
✓ Academic Mentoring and Admission Counseling
✓ Extracurricular: Cultural & Social Activities, Sports clubs, volunteering
12 MONTHS
Start in September | 1100 hours✓ Italian Language: A0 to B2 level (800 academic hours)
✓ Curricular Foundation Courses (track-specific) (300 academic hours)
✓ Academic Mentoring and Admission Counseling
✓ Extracurricular: Cultural & Social Activities, Sports clubs, volunteering
ENROLLMENT FEE
All students are required to complete payment of € 290 upon enrollment to the program.
The Enrollment Fee includes:
- Access to online learning platform, textbooks and learning materials
- Enrollment in Italian Language certification exam
- Visa application documentation and support
- Orientation upon arrival including city-tour and health & safety orientation
- On-site medical booking service
- 24/7 emergency assistance
- Assistance in enrolling to admission tests & communication with International offices of university of choice
- Cultural exchange program with local students
- Program Certificate and Transcript
Upon completion of the application form, students are required to complete payment of the Application Fee (€60).

Today the city of Syracuse is a warm-welcoming, lively city with much to offer to adventurous souls and culture vultures alike: one may choose to explore the labyrinth of narrow streets of the historical center, take a stroll around the medieval castle that overlooks the natural harbor or explore the pristine beaches and marine reserves that surround the city.
