The program takes you inside authentic Sicilian workshops. Under the guidance of a master artisan, you will explore two pillars of Sicilian decoration: the art of the kiln and the art of tesserae.
You will learn the history of these crafts, from Arab influences on pottery to Roman and Byzantine mosaic traditions.
Your journey begins with the earth. You will discover pittura su ceramica, traditional colours such as copper green, manganese yellow and cobalt blue, and the vocabulary used by artisans every day.
