Recognizing that we are surrounded by history, culture, natural beauty, wine, Baroque and ancient architecture, the dazzling Mediterranean, a fabulous climate, and supreme Sicilian cuisine and wines in Syracuse, The Italian Academy has never been simply satisfied to settle for being just another Italian language school. Courses available to our Italian language/holiday students include Italian +History, Myths & Culture, during which students receive 20 Italian language group lessons per week on language and culture in the mornings, and exciting excursions around Sicily’s historic landmarks in the afternoons. There is so very much to see in Sicily! For ‘foodies’, the Italian + Food & Wine program is literally a dream come true: 20 Italian language group lessons per week followed by traditional Italian cooking classes, wine tasting in a local winery, visits to pastry shops, gelato and so much more. Italian + The Sicilian Adventure, similarly allows students the opportunity to combine 20 Italian language group lessons per week with thrilling afternoon activities including a guided snorkelling trip to view an underwater archaeological site, a horseback trek through the mountains as well as opportunities for kayaking and sailing.
